June One

Back to my goals list!

March Goals Revisited

  • Complete Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred

Did not get a chance to finish this before I left but now that I have a set schedule I can get back into the swing of things.

  • Complete weeks 7-9 of C25k program

See above

  • Read 2 books

Complete!  I read The Marvelous Land of Oz, Double Dare, and finished Satan’s Sisters before the end of the month.

  • WORK ON getting 6+ consecutive hours of sleep per night.

I did a better job of this but have not concurred it totally yet.

  • WORK ON unplugging myself from phones, computers, iPads etc. by 11 pm

This sort of happened through no effort of my own.  I’ve been without stead internet for a while now and no TV at all besides watching random shows online.  Oddly enough I don;t even miss it all that much.  I’ve had a lot of time to explore

  • Work on getting new job asap!

Marsh started out kind of rocky on the Job front, I guess I wasn’t putting myself out there enough because I wasn’t getting a lot of interviews or responses from interviewers.  I chalk it up to being a bit rusty on the job search front.

  • No late night sleepy snacking

April Goals Revisited

  • Get a Job

Got a lot of interviews and a few second interviews so April turned out to be pretty good for upping my exposure/saturation.  I was even having a bit of fun playing dress up and having something to do every other day.  It got to be a bit daunting after a while and as the funds depleted I got a little more desperate to find anything at all.  I even signed up to

  • Read 1 Book

I started to read The Last Bookstore in America but didn’t finis it until May.

  • Find Permanent Apartment

I didn’t feel comfortable looking for an apartment without having a job so this goal went unfulfilled as well.  Womp!

May Goals Revisited

  • Get a Job

So yeah, that happened!  I finally found a job that I’m actually excited about here!  I had been offered a position back in April but it really didn’t pay enough for me to be able to stay and actually have a life here so I had to turn it down.  It seemed like a cool place too.  I had a ton of interviews this month that I got good feedback from but not knowing their software really hurt me, it turns out.  Oh well, it opened the doors for this opportunity at The Yale Club and I couldn’t be happier.  The interview was pretty great and the people seem really cool.  I’m glad to be able to wear athletic clothes again too lol.  All in all May ended on a high note.

  • Read 1 book

I finished The Last Bookstore in America which I got free from the Amazon/Kindle bookstore.  It was long and drawn out and basically took me the entire month the read.  Not because it was difficult, but because it got to be too detailed and a little boring.  I did, however, finish reading In Defense of Food which is more technical but ultimately more interesting (at least to me).

June Goals

  • Work out 3-4 days a week
  • Read 2 books (One in the Dexter Series)
  • Find permanent apartment
  • Eat vegetarian 3-4 days a week for the month of June
